How to Make Coral Not Die in Minecraft

Minecraft, the popular sandbox game, allows players to explore, gather resources, and build in a virtual world. One of the exciting features of the game is the underwater biome, filled with colorful coral reefs. However, coral in Minecraft can die if not cared for properly. In this article, we will provide you with detailed steps on how to ensure your coral stays vibrant and thriving.

1. Collecting Coral

The first step towards preserving your coral is to collect it. Underwater in Minecraft, you'll find coral blocks in various vibrant colors such as orange, pink, blue, and purple. Use a silk touch tool (enchant your pickaxe with Silk Touch or use shears) to collect intact coral blocks without killing them.

2. Creating an Underwater Habitat

Once you have collected the coral blocks, it's time to create a suitable environment for them to thrive. Start by selecting a location in or near a natural underwater pond or bay. Clear any unwanted blocks and create a flat, sandy surface for your coral to rest upon.

2.1 Placing Coral Blocks

Gently place the collected coral blocks onto the sandy area. Be careful not to place them too close together, as they may overlap and suffocate each other. Maintain a gap of at least one block between each coral block to allow proper growth.

2.2 Water Source Blocks

Ensure that the area surrounding your coral is filled with water source blocks. Coral requires a water block adjacent to it for sustenance. Flowing water won't work as coral needs a stable supply of water.

2.3 Depth and Light

For coral to thrive, it needs to be in water that is between 4 and 8 blocks deep. Also, ensure that there is sufficient light reaching your coral. Place some sea pickles or underwater light sources nearby to provide the necessary illumination.

3. Bonemeal for Growth

Bonemeal can be used to accelerate the growth of coral, just like with plants and crops. Simply right-click on the coral blocks with bonemeal, and your coral will gradually grow to its full size. Be careful not to use excessive bonemeal, as it can cause the coral to die.

4. Avoiding Damage

It's important to ensure that your coral does not get damaged, as it can lead to their untimely death. Here are some precautions to take:

4.1 Avoid Breaking Blocks Nearby

Breaking blocks near the coral can cause it to break as well. Ensure that you are not mining, digging, or placing blocks near your coral habitat to avoid accidental destruction.

4.2 Protect from Mobs

Certain hostile mobs, such as Guardians and Drowned, can damage and destroy your coral. Use protective measures like fences or glass walls around your coral habitat to keep these ...
