Announcing Starbucks Gallery Tours in West Loop Gallery District...

Meet at Starbucks, 946 West Randolph St. (corner of W. Randolph St. and N. Morgan St.) at 1:30 pm

Millennium Park

GALLERY DISTRICTS:
River North Gallery District
The greatest concentration of galleries in Chicago can be found in River North- many within a block or two from the intersection of Superior and Franklin Streets.

Along the Magnificent Mile
Approximately 25 galleries can be found along the "Magnificent Mile" from Oak Street to the river and further south near The Art Institute and Millenium Park. Some are in interesting ground-floor spaces just steps from Michigan Avenue; others are a short walking distance or elevator ride high above the city.


West Loop Gallery District
Pilsen / and near south
The largest gallery centers in the West Side district are near the intersection of Peoria and Washington and in the Fulton Market area between Peoria and Racine.The Pilsen Gallery District (approximately two miles south of the West Loop) also is a great destination to check out young and innovative galleries.

Beyond the City CenterJust south of the loop, the National Vietnam Veterans Art Museum, 1801 S. Indiana (312-326-0270) and the Mexican Fine Arts Center Museum, 1851 W. 19th Street (312-738-1503) are well worth a visit. Further south, The Smart Museum, 5550 S. Greenwood (773-702-0176) and The Renaissance Society, 5811 S. Ellis (773-702-8670) have outstanding galleries
located on the campus of the University of Chicago

North of the city center are scores of individual galleries as well as the ChicagoHistorical Society, Clark at North Avenue (312-642-4600) and the not for profit LillStreet Gallery, 4401 N. Ravenswood (773-769-4226) specializing in ceramics.

About 20 minutes west of the loop by car (or a little longer by public transportation) � are the Home and Studio of Frank Lloyd Wright as well as the nearby galleries in
Oak Park. Or travel north or west to other nearby suburbs for various museum and gallery exhibits, including The Block Museum at Northwestern University in Evanston
